Iran animation ‘Am I a Wolf?’ in competition at Greek film event

Iran animation ‘Am I a Wolf?’ is attending the Chaniartoon in Greece.

Iranian short animation ‘Am I a Wolf?’ is currently attending the Chaniartoon - International Comic & Animation Festival in Greece.

Directed by Amir-Houshang Moeen, the short is in competition at the 3rd edition of the Greek event.

A brief synopsis for the 8-minute animation reads, “Some school kids are performing a play called 'The Wolf and the Seven Little Goats'. Everybody has a role. They are totally getting carried away by their roles in a way that the borders between reality and theatrical performance is now hardly realized.

Meanwhile, the child acting as the wolf in the story is scripted to be defeated. That makes him feel lonely and annoyed. As he takes his role too seriously, a bit of chaos startles the group. At the end, the presence of other children and his friends next to him will take him out of this atmosphere.”

The short, which has been produced by Iranian Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults, has so far attended various international events and won several awards, including the New Face Award at the 22nd Media Arts Festival in Japan.

The latest edition of the Chaniartoon kicked off on September 13 and it is planned to wrap up on September 23, 2019 in the city of Chania, Greece.
